Zelda Doll - Artcrossing gift by Break-Mimosa Zelda Doll - Artcrossing gift by Break-Mimosa
This is #Artcrossing gift I made for =souffle-etc

=souffle-etc's profile said that he likes nerdy things (like Legend of Zelda) and that he preferred artisan crafts to paintings and drawings due to lack of displaying space. I had problems with no drawings part because I draw most of time (and I suck at making crafts) so at first I had no idea about what I should make. But then I thought of making a doll. I decided to make Zelda because I have more experience in making female faces and I really liked Zelda's Skyward Sword design. I just hope this wasn't too girly for him :( Her body is slightly movable because of wires which make up her body and if you have enough of patience you can make her stand on her own (which came as a surprise for me when I made this). I also didn't have a sewing machine at hand when I was making her so everything was sewn by hand. Funny thing is the day after I mailed the gift I visited a local community center with my friend and found out that the place has sewing machines that you can use for free!

I've never made a doll before and I made many mistakes so I had to start over a few times but I'm glad how it turned out (I was tempted to keep her ;)) I had lots of fun and I think I'm going to make more dolls in the future. I hope he liked it :)

Thanks :) It turned out surprisingly good considering it's the first doll I've made unless we count those sock dolls I made when I was in first grade ;)

This doll was incredible! I wasn't expecting an artcrossing gift, so this was the best surprise I could have asked for! You did an amazing job for your first time, and this doll is certainly good enough for an experienced crafter! I know you haven't done anything like this before, but please continue in this field as well! You have serious talent! I'm really not much of a doll person, but I absolutely adore this gift! Thank you so much!!
